Albums You

Should Have

Albums You Should Have. Arrogant, presumptuous title, I know, but what else was I going to call this page? I agonised over what to call it and kept coming back to this title because it expressed what I wanted it to.

This short list are albums that I've loved over the years and I've discovered that frequently not too many people know about all of them. Well, in case you don't know about them, I recommend that you check them out, they're some of my faves.

801 LIVE

Englishmen Phil Manzanera & Brian Eno (of Roxy Music fame) teamed up for a few gigs to record this LIVE album in the summer of 1976. 801 LIVE is quite unlike any other album that I have, sounding like a Google research team letting their hair down. Nerdy, fun and incredibly unlike American Rock'n'Roll.

The Koln Concert

The Koln Concert is a SOLO jazz improvisational piano recorded LIVE on one magical night. Simply wonderful

Grace

Jeff Buckley's only official release before his untimely death. If you like Led Zepplin, you should hear Grace. It's not a clone, it's like their son, their loving son.

N.B. There are lots more albums to come in 2008.
