The Indiana Jones
Trilogy

Indian Jones
I just had a peek at Amazon and at time of writing there were 700+ reviews for the 3-movie 4-DVD Indiana Jones pack that I have, somewhat surprising for me considering that the movies are from the 1980s. Actually, I'm not writing this to really review the movies, that would be a little redundant, considering how well known they are.
No, what I actually thought I'd write about about is that much to my surprise, both of my kids, Matthew (then 13) and Jamie (then 11) found the Indiana Jones trilogy really entertaining (we watched them on consecutive nights during the school holidays).
"So what?"
...you're probably saying.
Well, you see, they'd never heard of them...and they normally turn their noses up at anything made before 2000* as the movies just don't look good enough. The fact that Indiana Jones got past their Quality Control says a lot for the movies and director Stephen Spielberg:
Raiders Of The Lost Ark, is, of course still superb, except I still find one scene problematic, which is when Indy swims to catch a ride on the Nazi submarine (in the middle of nowhere) and then, via a pixillated map travels 1,000 miles or so and we cut back to him hiding in the Nazi's secret island lair. Thank goodness the submarine didn't dive!
The Temple Of Doom is a cross between The Goonies and an expensive splatter movie and was actually slightly disturbing for my younger son &
The Last Crusade has some great banter between Indy and his Dad...and a rather comic meeting between Indy and Hitler
So, if you have kids, don't despair, they may well like Indiana Jones...and this review gives you the OK to buy the whole damn set...even if it ends up being just for you.
